In 2013, this image of snowboarder Victor De Le Rue was captured while shooting his legendary film segment for the Absinthe feature, Dopamine. This massive step-down is located in a remote corner of British Columbia adjacent to the Yukon territory. To gain access, special backcountry permits were obtained from the provincial Canadian government.

While filming, our crew of 12 camped for two weeks in a location we dubbed New Haineswick. Six RVs. Two Porta Potties. One A-Star helicopter. All posted up on the side of a deep winter highway. Just tundra and mountains for as far as the eye can see. To get a sense of this desolate, beautiful landscape just watch Dopamine —streaming now on AbsintheTV.
