When this photo of Santa Cruz Snowboards pro rider Darren Cingel was captured way back in the year 2000, the terrain was called Alpine Meadows. Today it’s called Palisades Tahoe. Aside from the name change, much is still the same.

Darren Cingel still rips. The powder is still plentiful. The chairlift views are still breathtaking. The terrain is still universally loved. Chains are still required after a big storm. Rugged folks dressed in overalls will still put them on your tires for around $30 bucks. Why? So that you and grandma don’t have to do it yourselves.

Hands down and without question, Lake Tahoe, California is one of the most welcoming winter wonderlands in all of stateside snowboarding. From the roadside assistance to the lunchroom cashiers and the upbeat lift-ops, Tahoe and its people want you to achieve your dreams of finer things; like life, liberty, and the pursuit of powder.

In this photo, Cingel rides Estelle Bowl, located just a quick jaunt from the top of Alpine Bowl Chair. See, Tahoe makes it easy for you. If you haven’t been, drop everything, drop in, and live your dream reality.
