Riksgränsen, Sweden in May is gloomy. Cold and foggy 24-hours per day. Lotta wet air. Back in 2000, being there with young riders ready to shred made all the difference. Good chance we would’ve crumbled under the weight of the weather, otherwise.
Despite the flat light, flat landing, and poor snow conditions, Nicolas Müller hit this road gap like a spring colt bounding through a field of clover. It was a sight to behold. That same week, he and Fredi Kalbermatten had just gotten signed to Burton. As lifelong friends, they were practically a package deal.
For the next three years, Fredi and Nicolas traveled together while filming for the Absinthe feature films Transcendence (2001), Vivid (2002), and Saturation (2003). In 2004, Fredi left the Absinthe crew to begin working on a string of classic parts with Standard Films. To this day, all parties are friends and experienced global travelers with hilarious stories and great film parts under their collective belts.
