MICRODOSE | Brighton Resort Episode 2 of 5

Welcome to Brighton Resort Episode 2 of 4. In conversations about the history of snowboarding, folks often mention that Brighton Resort was one of the earliest places to welcome snowboarding when it was still banned from most ski areas. But what does this really mean? Turns out, a lot. Back in the day, if you wanted to ride in Utah (or anywhere, really), you had to hike into the backcountry, make turns, and hope for the best. No avalanche controls. No “safety first” mindset. Lots of risk. Not an ideal situation. By embracing snowboarders and snowboard culture, Brighton saw an opportunity to change all that for millions of riders not just in Utah, but around the world. In this episode of MICRODOSE, we jump in the ol’ hot tub time-machine to hear from a few of the folks who were there during the early days of snowboarding. “The best place on earth” might indeed be Brighton.
